I want to have dirt under my fingernails and smell the scent of the Earth.
I want to laugh as I climb trees and marvel at all that I can see. I want to nap on beds of moss and be soothed by the hum of the bees, dragonflies, and butterflies going about their work. They don't know it, but our lives are in their hands. I want to dive to the ocean's depths and commune with the stingrays. I want to softly glide alongside the orcas. I want to forage for kiamoana on the sea floor. These watery places are the origins of my soul. I want to nurture what it is that has, in fact, always nurtured me. I want to stop believing the lies that told me the wild would swallow me whole and lead to my downfall. Instead, I want to give myself over to what I know is true, and has always been true: My wildness will enable all of me to rise.
