I completely love and trust my body.
It has brought me so much joy to come to that realization, feeling like I have returned home at long last. But that is a statement I would not have been able to say just a few years ago.

My 9 year-old son is an avid rock and crystal collector. So much so that on a recent trip to Colorado, I told him he could get one reasonably priced souvenir to commemorate the trip. What he chose was a citrine quartz from the gift shop at the mouth of a cave that we toured. Classic Reese, I thought to myself.
Lately I’ve been feeling the very strange sensation of actually wanting to go swim a few laps and spend time in the pool. So much in fact that when clouds are forming on the horizon and thunderous rain may be threatening, I am hoping that the pool stays open! Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt this way. It feels really good to have this desire again - and for it to be joyful! My training suit may be old and well-worn, and my equipment shows the tell tale signs of neglect, but I don’t care, I am happy.

After all, it is the No. 1 city in the world for pretty much everything. “Who would ever want to move away?” This article appeared originally in the April 2018 print issue of skirt! Magazine
